CHIASMA
The CHIASMA Project is a major Horizon Europe research initiative focused on transforming how the safety and sustainability of chemicals and advanced materials are assessed. It develops and integrates a comprehensive set of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) into a robust, user-friendly framework for regulatory human and environmental safety evaluation. By aligning with the EU’s Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles and key policies such as the European Green Deal and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, CHIASMA aims to support regulators and stakeholders in implementing smarter, science-based decision-making under frameworks like REACH and CLP. The project emphasises regulatory relevance, data FAIRification, validation of innovative methods, and improving life-cycle impact assessments for both safety and sustainability of emerging technologies and materials
SCAHT participates as a scientific partner in the CHIASMA consortium and contributes expertise in advancing human-centric safety assessment methodologies and their regulatory applicability.
