Lidwina Gerner obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in Drug Sciences with a specialization in toxicology at the same institution. For her Master’s thesis, she joined the SCAHT in August 2024 and worked on the establishment of an Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) in developmental neurotoxicity. After completing her Master’s degree in 2025, Lidwina started a PhD at SCAHT, where she continues her research in the field of developmental and regulatory toxicology, with a focus on advancing new approach methodologies (NAMs) for chemical safety assessment.
