EU Datathon is a competition intended to highlight the potential of linking EU and national data as well as to promote the reuse of open data. Participants are invited to develop apps using at least one dataset produced by the EU Institutions or Agencies available on the EU Open Data Portal. Ein Schwerpunkt der Tagung liegt auf dem Schutz der Gewässer. Es wird ein Überblick über den Stand der Umsetzung des Aktionsplans gegeben und spezifische Massnahmen zum Schutz der Gewässer werden vorgestellt. The EFSA conference 2018 is constructed around the motto “contextualising risk assessment”. This means reflecting on the future of risk assessment in food safety while acknowledging the social and political context within which it operates.

LIVe2018 focuses on predictive in vitro lung models designed for basic research, efficacy and toxicity testing. It aims to present the state-of-art of in vitro lung models, and to map out the route for its future development and use. The meeting at which Epithelix has the lead in providing the scientific content and Altertox Academy the logistic part, intends to be a unique exchange platform for scientists interested in in vitro respiratory researches, stakeholders from academia, pharma, biotech, chemical, tobacco, consumer goods, medical devices industries, CROs and regulatory agencies.

The aim of this workshop is to explore the different ways human biomonitoring (HBM) and health studies could be combined in order to obtain synergies in the use of common infrastructures and personnel, and at the same time, to obtain more information from the study participants using the most cost-effective methods. Experiences from countries that have already conducted combined HBM and health studies will be presented during the workshop. A comparison of the existing HBM and health survey protocols will be made to investigate possible opportunities and obstacles.
