Ce cours a pour but de présenter les notions générales de toxicologie et de pharmacologie, notamment le devenir des substances dans l’organisme et leur interaction avec celui-ci. Différents mécanismes de toxicité seront présentés. Le cours est illustré par des exemples provenant des différentes disciplines de la toxicologie. L’aspect analytique sera également abordé, en particulier pour mentionner les liens avec les autres cours proposés par le ccCTA.

This course provides a broad overview on the organ systems of interest as well as standard tests to investigate drug effects on these systems. Each organ system will be introduced before detailed information on the safety pharmacology aspects is provided. Integration of Safety Pharmacology findings in an overall risk assessment will be demonstrated. Concordance data and case reports will provide the evidence how meaningful pre-clinical data are for the clinical situation. The course is part of DGPT Modular Training Programme in Toxicology ("Fachtoxikologe/in DGPT") and the registration has to be made via the German Society of Toxicology.

Beyond two main topics, presentations on actual and relevant topics from the different disciplines of toxicology and safety sciences will be provided.

The theme for the 23rd SETAC Europe LCA Case Study Symposium is Life Cycle Assessment for Decision Support. The focus of these two days is on case studies that highlight both solutions and challenges when applying consequential modelling for comparisons of products, projects, and strategies. The various sessions of the scientific programme cover all aspects of the application of LCA to decision making in business practice, environmental product declarations, due diligence, social responsibility, environmental management, and policy development.

The topics of the conference are: defined approaches towards regulatory acceptance, simulations of exposure and transport, integration and interoperability: software, integration and interoperability: data, high-content imaging and characterization of experimental conditions. The event starts on the evening of 15 November 2017 with a poster presentation and networking session. On 16 November, a plenary session will be dedicated to LRI projects impact with focus on environmental and human health questions, including non-extractable residues, ecosystems services, chemical activity, biodegradation, bioaccumulation, carcinogenicity and inhalation nanotoxicology. This will be followed by a thematic session on: “Making sense of Omics for regulatory applications”. 

Leading scientists from across the world will take part in the colloquium to explore future directions for evidence integration in human risk assessment of chemicals.
