The SOT Annual Meeting is the largest meeting of its kind. This annual event features a broad range of scientific sessions and a thematic program that provides participants with a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge in topical areas and interact with leaders in their respective disciplines. The scientific program includes Plenary Lectures and other featured sessions, Symposia, Workshops, Roundtable discussions, Informational Sessions, and a Regional Interest Session, as well as Platform and Poster Sessions. The Society anticipates that more than 6,500 toxicologists from more than 50 countries will attend. The SOT Annual Meeting also includes the ToxExpo, which is the largest exhibition dedicated to toxicology and the biomedical sciences. ToxExpo features 350 exhibitors who lead the industry in developing cutting-edge products, services, and technology to benefit the toxicology community. Exhibitors also have the opportunity to demonstrate their products and educate attendees about their services via Exhibitor-Hosted Sessions throughout the week.

This course is part of DGPT Modular Training Programme in Toxicology and provides a broad overview on the organ systems of interest as well as standard tests to investigate drug effects on these systems. Each organ system will be introduced before detailed information on the safety pharmacology aspects is provided. Integration of Safety Pharmacology findings in an overall risk assessment will be demonstrated. Concordance data and case reports will provide the evidence how meaningful pre-clinical data are for the clinical situation.

This webinar in the Health section of Horizon 2020 shows the numerous funding possibilities for researchers and consortia. 7.2 billion Euros are allocated for health research 2014-2020. A Q&A; session via web chat will be added.  This workshop is free of charge but registration is compulsory.

Radon ist ein natürliches, radioaktives Edelgas, das aus dem Untergrund in Gebäude gelangen kann. Neue Risikoeinschätzungen zeigen, dass erhöhte Radonkonzentrationen in Innenräumen in allen Regionen der Schweiz auftreten. Radon verursacht jährlich 200 bis 300 Todesfälle durch Lungenkrebs in der Schweiz. Durch geeignete Massnahmen bei Neu- und Umbauten lässt sich die Radonbelastung in Gebäuden mit wenig Aufwand erheblich senken.  An der Krebstagung 2014 der Krebsliga Schweiz und des Bundesamtes für Gesundheit beleuchten Fachreferenten aus Wissenschaft, Medizin und Bauwesen das Thema aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln. Massnahmen zur Reduktion von Radon in Innenräumen sowie die Konsequenzen der neuen Rahmenbedingungen in Gesetz und Baunormen werden aufgezeigt und diskutiert.  Die Tagung wendet sich an Fachleute und Interessierte aus Bauwesen, Medizin, Public Health und Wissenschaft sowie an Behördenvertreter, Medienschaffende, Hauseigentümer und Notare.
