This two days hands-on training hosted by Epithelix will cover practical use of respiratory in vitro 3D tissues and exposure devices to evaluate acute and repeated dose inhalation toxicity. To mimic systemic context, interconnection strategies of lung tissues will be presented.

This two days hands-on training will cover these topics and techniques in the lab: IPSC and reprogramming; quality control of genetic stability: " DNA integrity of IPSC by copy number variation by digital droplet PCR"; gene expression profile: arrays or RNA-seq? choosing the right tool for the job; 3D printing of hydrogels scaffolds - design of scaffold, programation, printing parameters; preclinical models of rheumatic disease: how to analyse bone and articular via imaging.

Developments of techniques in chemistry, physics, bioengineering, or big data analysis, in association with improvements in the understanding of biological mechanisms, yielded a bloom of new tools for experimental approaches in life sciences. In vivo, in silico and in vitro studies benefit from tools such as OMICs, organoids, bio-artificial organs, use of ex-vivo material, telemetry and non invasive measurements, imaging in vivo and on cellular material. ECOPIA and FRANCOPIA are organizing this scientific symposium, which should illustrate the tremendous potential offered by the new tools for the investigation in life sciences.

Participants will learn the principles of Good Cell Culture Practice (GCCP) and OECD Good In Vitro Method Practices (GIVMP) in theory and practice; hands-on training with neuronal cell cultures, 3D spheroids and wound healing bioassays.

NACCT is an annual conference that allows physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and scientists from around the world to participate in the sharing of knowledge on a wide variety of clinical toxicology topics and issues. In addition, the congress includes presentation of original research papers, a number of symposia, as well as other traditional and novel continuing education sessions.

This Special Science Symposium will show a series of new developments that facilitate the extrapolation of adverse effects, caused by chemical exposure, observed in experiments amongst different levels of biological organisation. Different methodologies will be showcased, such as Quantitative Adverse Outcome Pathways, Toxicokinetic-Toxicodynamic modelling, Population models, Ecosystem/food chain models and landscape level models. The symposium will start with the regulatory views from EFSA, ECHA and the European Commission on the implementation of these new developments into Environmental Risk Assessment. This will be followed by a series of expert presentations on novel experimental and modelling approaches, as well as successful case studies on how these approaches could inform future Environmental Risk Assessments of chemicals.

The general theme of the Congress is “New approach methodologies for in vitro toxicology applications”. This slogan is fully reflected in the 8 thematic sessions. The deadline for abstract submission for oral and poster presentations has been extended to 1 July 2018.

Conference Theme: Bridging the gap between experimental and computational work in safety and risk assessment

This workshop will focus on improved integration of in vitro drug disposition assessments with the latest developments in the field of PB(P)K-based prediction. Special attention will also be given to prediction of (tissue) partition coefficients.

Workshop and hands-on training on Quasi-Vivo cell culture flow system and data management. The training is dedicated to scientists from industry, academia, consultancy and CROs interested in the application of advanced cell culture systems and to get familiar with the latest approaches related to experimental data management and integrated in vitro - in silico approaches.
